MEASURE, SCALE AND DRAW
TASK
With this assignment, we had to hone our observational skills even further by organizing and interpreting elements within a chosen space. This assignment tests our understanding of basic principles and conventions required to accurately express 3D space into orthographic drawings.
PROGRESS
For the first week of the assignment, we had to propose a suitable space. Notably, the space had to be of suitable size and with fixed furniture. My first proposal was accepted, which was a bedroom with large cabinet and wardrobe fixtures.

For every week of the assignment, we had to produce a penciled drawing of the different orthographic projections that were required; plan, elevations, section as well as detailed drawings of a chosen furniture. As I enjoyed recording and mapping out elements onto paper, my progress went well and I did not find myself lagging behind throughout the assignment.

Finally, we had to finish our drawings with felt tip pens. Prior to tutorial, we had a detailed lecture regarding the importance of line weights and difference between architectural symbols. As such, I took great care in planning out suitable line weights and placement of architectural symbols before putting pen on paper. Lastly, I finished off with a title block detailing various useful information including company details and such.
OUTCOME
Conclusively, I found this assignment to be extremely useful, especially when using proper architectural terminology, for example in dimension lines and information within the title block. I personally think that this assignment had helped me expand my knowledge of the different types of drawings required in the architectural world.
