INTRODUCTION TO DRAWING
"All the visible world is only light on form."
- Andrew Loomis
In this module, students learn how to use drawing techniques and conventions to convey accurate, reliable and understandable information to the construction industry. This includes orthographic drawings all the way to relaying real-world spaces into drawings. As such, we are equipped with the knowledge to analyse spaces, interpret its key areas and conveying it into drawings.
ASSIGNMENTS AND PROJECTS
MINI CHALET
For our final assignment, we had to utilize both our understanding of orthographic projections and relaying drawn information of 3D space, in addition to implementing imagined space within a site context; a space atop the lake of Taylor's Lakeside Campus. As usual, drawing conventions and techniques had to be kept in consideration.
MEASURE, SCALE AND DRAW
With this assignment, we had to hone our observational skills even further by organizing and interpreting elements within a chosen space. This assignment tests our understanding of basic principles and conventions required to accurately express 3D space into orthographic drawings.
INTRODUCTION TO TECHNICAL DRAWINGS
This assignment requires our observational skills to accurately map out the specific forms and shapes of an object. We were required to produce plan, elevation and section drawings to scale of our chosen item to showcase our ability of converting 3D objects into orthographic drawings.

CONCLUSION
All in all, this was an exciting module to close out a highly interesting chapter in my architectural journey. Personally, I have learnt many things throughout this course, for example how to project 3D objects orthographically, how to appropriately use line weights, as well as the many different types of architectural symbols. I realize now that there are many drawing techniques and conventions within the industry to adhere to, as well. For me, I simply enjoyed the module too much to have any major challenges along the way! Lastly, in terms of the Taylor's Graduate Capabilities, I can definitively say that I have acquired thinking and problem solving skills, especially when creating the mini chalet with respect to all the limitations imposed. Besides that, I have also indirectly obtained communication skills, by relaying accurate and reliable information via my drawings.
